I love fishing shallow....there are always fish shallow....the bonus to sight fishing is that you get to "see" the fish.
However, I will not flip a bed for more than a few minutes before moving on. I also really like to back out just a bit and drag a 10" worm around looking for the big girls.

What’s your favorite go to baits in the spawn? Surprisingly I did good this last spawn with just a fluke. Heavy action rod, 1/2 oz football weight, large, very sharp, treble hook, and night crawler.

If you fish from March till May in 1'-15' you are fishing the spawn whether you are looking at 'em or not.

Yes I agree with Mr Perry. Better fish only half the year if you don’t want to catch spawning fish.

I LOVE sight fishing. Once you catch a real big one 9+ off a bed especially one that’s not easy to trick you will be hooked.

Most of the lakes I fish aren't clear enough to do a lot of sight fishing, but If I stumble onto one you bet your arse that Im gonna try to stick it.

I fish all year. I fish shallow when they are shallow. But I don’t beat bedding fish in the head till they bite. I just fun fish anyway so I put them right back where I caught them.

Easiest time to catch bass. Just chunk at a bank and you are likely to catch one , if not that bank then pick another LOL

Yes I fish during the spawn. I leave the sight fishing to my partner who has much younger and far better eyes than I do. I prefer the prespawn. Truthfully I like fishing before and after the spawn because trying to get them to bite when they are feeding is easier for me than trying to get them to bite when they are thinking about making little bass. Spring time is not the easiest time for me to catch fish unlike most. Then again, I suck at fishing...
