Some things should just be sacred, and letting a coin toss decide what your married "last Name" will be will end up in the "Let's eat this Tide Pod" category.

Coin Toss Decides Name At Wedding

No I’ve Always thought it Was odd when the man takes the woman’s last name too . I can let it slide I guess when a couple gets married and they keep there maiden name cuz there a celebrity or whatever but that’s as far as I go .

A coin toss? Seriously? I get it if a couple decides to hyphenate (though I still find it bizarre - how many hyphens will there be in that last name in a couple generations?). I also sort of get it if the husband decides to take the wife's last name - again, odd and certainly not traditional.

But for the love of whatever you find holy, MAKE THE DECISION. Don't let random chance choose it for you.

When my Wife and I married we jointly agreed there was no need for her to change her name, for a few reasons.

Trying to explain to people how to spell and pronounce my name would get tiresome.
She is the second generation of her family to practice law using her name and everyone knows her by that name.
Having to do all the paperwork to get the name change down is a huge pain.

My wife kept her name.......Linda. I'm OK with it.

Coin toss? No.
Why does anybody need to change their name?

My wife wanted me to change mine but I refused.
We compromised.
She kept her last name and became Sharon Stone-Icepick.
