When we bought our property it seemed like everyone in town wanted to fish with me. As we were remodeling the house people were driving in asking if they could fish.....or just driving in and start fishing. I finally put up an electric gate opener and it stopped that. Then we heard from numerous people in town....waitress, title company people, barbershop people: "my son caught his first fish out of that pond" or "My grandson and I fish there every Saturday" or "Mr ------ let us fish his pond. Can we come over?"

Geez, I was glad to cut down on the traffic and make it private. Ie - just me.

Gotten to the point I would rather fish alone.. Leave when I want, change spots when I want, eat when I want go home when I want. That and my dog likes EVERYTHING I do..

And as long as there is room at the courtesy dock...I can load or unload faster than a lot of two some's..

I fish alone 99% of the time. I will actually fish stuff for hours looking for a big bite where as if I was with someone I would feel the pressure to put them around actively feeding fish. A lot of times you have to fish your friends strength to keep them occupied, most of my friends/co-workers are horrible at casting and setting the hooks on grass/wood/rock/tires/bream/glass bottles/piers and need 3' of water year round to have confidence.

Really enjoy fishing with my wife and buddies but I probably fish solo with this little girl about 75% of the time... wouldn't trade it for anything, except having Riley back on the deck with her. [Linked Image]

I fish by myself 95% of the time. I enjoy it but often wonder if I am covering the spot I am in effectively by myself. Fishing alone you also lose the ability to learn from others. But when it is said and done, fish by myself or don't fish at all, I will go alone 100% of the time vs not going.

I'm just the opposite. Only thing greater then fishing by yourself is fishing by yourself when nobody else is on the lake.

I enjoy fishing alone when I can, but if you want to meet some other fishermen and develop some friendships, try joining a BASS club.
