I fish alone a lot also. My daughter goes in the warmer months but in the winter I go alone. Be nice to fish with someone from time to time but as stated above. It’s great alone time. I live 1/2 mile from the boat ramp so I make a lot of short trips. Especially if the bite is slow! Lol

I do about 60/40 alone. I do enjoy the alone time but also enjoy some company. If you are looking for a partner some, there is a section in the forum for that.

I prefer to have someone with me, especially loading and unloading and helping keep the boat away from docks and other hazards, I do like to fish alone as well, I talk to myself a lot, even answer myself, hope no one ever plants a recorder in my boat, lol.

Mostly alone. Good about that is that you get to set the agenda and timing without any potential headwinds. Go where you want when you want and fish how you want. Really get caught up in figuring out where the fish are and what you need to do to get at them.
Good side of fishing with others is sometimes one person figures out the pattern so that the other can copy and maybe get on fish that they might have missed. But, sometimes you get to play second fiddle fishing with others if they control the boat, depending on the structure. When I’m on someone else’s boat, there’s often times I wish the captain would do something different or position the boat in another way, but won’t say anything so as not be a PITA.
It can be a lot of fun fishing with the right folks, though. People are so busy, though, it is hard to get schedules to line up.
Fishing is one activity that’s still a lot of fun to do alone.

I like fishing with others but usually fish about 80% of the time alone and 20% with others. My wife likes to crappie fish when the weather is not to cold or hot. I mainly hit Sam Rayburn, Cassel Boykin has a nice dock. When alone I get to do alot of graphing and looking. I bass fish every chance I get, it's nice to catch lots of bass but some days I will fish all day for only one big bite while looking for new spots. Shift work was allowing me to fish alot during the week, but now I am about to be m-f guy

I fish alone alot-its peaceful and you don't have to worry about your partner catching fish. If your catching alot of fish and your parner isn't doing very well you can start to feel guilty.

I do and I enjoy it. No nagging or complaining. No having to turn around and get someone unsnagged. It's like night fishing, having the entire lake to yourself. No better way to fish.

I retired here and been 10 years fishing mostly alone and like it. I just haven’t found anyone as a regular yet, most here that fish already have a boat and partners it seems. I joined a bass club for a year but no one needed a boater so I’m back to alone. That might be an idea to meet others though if you like tournaments.

It depends why you fish. I fish alone mostly and enjoy it, and also love going with friends. If the reason you fished was mostly because you liked the time with your son, maybe this is a chance to take a break and explore a new hobby.

Put me in the solo column also. I enjoy the solitude & company. lol. Just have to be more aware of safety items, ie, pfd on @ all times, watching for rogue waves, skiers/wakeboarders, etc. ,

90 percent of the time fish alone. I have a few fishing buddies but they live 2 hours away.

95% alone, but every now & then it’s nice to fish with someone. Really sucks when you catch an awesome fish and have nobody to share the moment with.
