What's more warped is the fact that Kinky Friedman, a UT graduate, wrote and recorded that song.

I thought it disgusting. He must think it is funny.

After listening to the Kinky song it seems that he was trying to get listeners to stop and think about the reason Whitman did what he did. Did he really have a brain tumor that lead to his mass slaughtering of innocents? Did something happen during his time in the Marines that lead to his murderous rampage? Was the availability of guns in America what tipped the scales for a lunatic?
I'm just sharing what I gathered from the song.

This is not a old song but I yanks a tear from me just about every time I hear it. You see, I have a beautiful daughter that I knew would get married someday and I was going to have to give her away. Well, she got married on Nov 30 and it was the happiest day of my life but was also one of the hardest because you feel like you have lost your 'little girl'.

Because it made Ma cry.

Merle Haggard's- "Holding Things Together" was always one of my favorite sad songs.
