Jpurdue, let me know when you have an open seat. Lol.

I don’t have a clue, but my first guess is what ever happened in the lake whether natural or leakage didn’t kill everything. But it could have made a much higher % sickly so they just aren’t eating. It also could’ve affected deeper fish populated areas of the lake that scattered the schools and made those areas inhabitable. My guess is they are scattered and suspended. Over time they will regroup, but where could be interesting.

I have an open seat about half the time! So you are welcome anytime. I fish it less in the winter though. Too many guys out there, and I shift my focus to big fish on other lakes everyone else ignores.

I went to Rayburn. I think it was almost 11 when the fog was gone.

I fished fayette yesterday. Fog as a serious hazard until 8:30 am. It made running and gunning to find fish impossible. A ton of guys out there, most of the well known community holes had 2-3 guys sitting on them all day. We caught 12 fish in 4 hours with no clear winner for a pattern. We caught a few on rocks, a few in timber, a few offshore. Weights for me were much lower than normal. I think the top 5 went about 12.5. I will say the water looked better, the fish we did catch looked super healthy. I also think if there weren't fog and a million guys out there we could have doubled our numbers.

Yeah it was close to 10 when the fog burned off enough to run at Rayburn.

12/29 Had an amazing morning fishing with my dad on Fayette county lake. I caught over 50!!!!! With an awesome double that I got on video. Thank the lord above for days like this that I’ll never forget! This one bass came up on the spot with this big bluegill stuck in her throat, I was able to save them! As always, thanks to my Kistler Rods that help me cast in this crazy wind and feel the bites!

doesn't it make you feel good that God sent you to that spot to save that bass and perch...and He rewarded you with many catches and great memories...more blessings will come your way

Fayette bass love to get tilapia and bluegill stuck in their craw. I've dislodged at least a half dozen fish to live another day, as well as witness as many floating belly up. I've had mixed days out there recently in my kayak. Some fantastic 20+ fish days with 3-5 lb fish being common, and some days where a dozen were a total grind, and only half were slot-length. The offshore spots that used to be a sure thing aren't that any more, but when you find the big girls in schools, they'll generally cooperate. You may have to fish in different areas than you normally do, though.
