Im sorry but a 5.5 # bass is not a monster bass. Time to buy better equipment if that fish broke your rod. Really dude? That's a nice solid bass in the video.. I know how it goes though.. That bass ain't [censored] until it hangs up on your own rod.

I read the comments before I watched the video. I was inclined to be irritated as well that a 5.5 lb bass was being sensationalized into a monster. However, after watching the video, it's pretty clear from the voice inflections and overall excitement, that for the OP a 5 lber actually was a monster bass. I take a lot of joy in hearing people get excited about a fish, whether that's your first 2 lber, 5 lber, or DD. Fish on!

EGG-ZACTLY That was my take, i remember when i caught my first bass that went over 6lb. He didn't make as much noise as i did.  Back then a six was a hog! I fished many tourn. where 4 lb.er won lots of big bass pots. But when they opened Fork on a Saturday, i was there on Monday and i fished it 2-3 days a week until 1991. It got so stupid there i slowed way down, but still have a  35 ft. goose neck there.
I would agree with you , but then we would both be WRONG !!!!!

ez, I get the big bass thing as you and I chase the same thing. don't ever, ever forget where it started from or its over. trying to prove your above the curve makes you look like a hater. your better than that. You know me and know that I really did not mean for my comment to come out in a negative way. I'm sorry that it did. I meant him no harm at all. Please accept my apology. No apologies necesarry. Its all good. Some folks are a little more animated and expressive than others when they catch a nice bass. If you thought that young man's actions were excessive with a 5.58, you would have thought I had lost my mind when I caught my first 5 lb 2 oz bass at Ray Hubbard. I carried that fish all over town in a 5 gallon bucket showing it off to all my buddies.  The only disagreement you and I have is you saying that an 11.65 isn't a Monster. If that's not your idea of a Monster, what is??

LOL your 15 pounder Ken. That is a Monster bass. To me anything 13 and over is "my definition" of a Monster bass. I have never caught one that big and don't know if I ever will.

EJ, a legit 12 pounder is a freak of nature. Precious few anglers will ever see one. If you and I are ever together and I boat an 11.65 you had better close your ears because I will go all Iaconelli on you!!
