Bass fishing is still productive even with the cold water temperatures. 2 day tournament results for this past weekend were good with only six members fishing due the cold weather. 1st- 29.21, 2nd-28.30, 3rd- 24.63, 4th- 23.70, 5th- 20.19, 6th- 12.00. Big Bass 8.10. The water temperature was 58.7 in the mourning and 61.1 in the afternoon. Saturday all of the stringers came from the southside of the lake fishing the edge of the grass. Sunday all stringers came from the southside of the lake again. Water temperatures remained the same. Some of the anglers were punching the grass and some were Carolina rig fishing. Flukes and Creature baits were the baits of choice.

Guys, at this lake level, is it possible to navigate from Mason Point to the 99 bridge? Thanks Yes, but it would be smart to idle only. No way, I’d get on plane with the big trees up the river.

At this lake level there is plenty of water and depth to navigate from Mason to 99 bridge. The problem with this level is it looks like a lot of open areas to run but those open areas have timber just under the surface of the water. Very easy to thump a stump. If you have a Navionics premium south SD map card you can navigate the river channel safer. It will high light the river channel with the colored sea bed option selected for safe navigation. Make a pass up to 99 bridge with the track record selected so it will show up on your lake map and follow it back to Mason point.

Was fishing 99 bridge area yesterday -- LOTS OF STUMPS just below the surface, either side of the main river channel. Cost me a lower unit last year just trolling the main channel. Water temp 57degrees in the morning, 59 degrees by noon. Lots of weeds -- most on the banks but some even floating in the river channel.

Any of y’all see ducks while fishing north of 99?

I have not been up to or past 99 in a few years but I can tell you that during the day there we flocks of ducks in the middle of the lake. While I was running back to Calliham the ducks would fly up and look like clouds. I guess they got smart and moved out of the shallows from the morning shooting.

Two weekends ago there were plenty of ducks and hunters(3) in the CREEK, close to the 99 bridge or at least thats where it sounded like the shots were coming from.

Didn't see or hear any duck hunters on Monday. Saw a few small flocks of teal, but that was it as far as ducks. Saw plenty of egrets, cormorants, coots and a couple of gators.

I don’t see how anyone could retrieve their duck, if they shot one while in the river. You only have a 100’ wide area for it to land into. Seems like you’d lose more, than retrieve.

The lake coming up last year ruined all of my spots. Before that I could wade across the back of plum creek, in maybe a foot of water? To bad that spots now 10 feet underwater...
