Seems Fentanyl ODs result in death more often than other ODs we run.

Because it's so incredibly powerful. About 100 times as powerful as morphine. Very easy to misjudge the amount and be dead. Or be completely unaware it's even in there.

Addicts will take the patches and soak them in water and then inject the liquid. The drug world is supply and demand just like any other marketable commodity. The only way to curb the supply is to curb the demand. Alcohol is still the #1 offender in the world of substance abuse.

Anyone who would buy a painkiller on the street is an even bigger idiot.

Fentanyl is used every day for a variety of medical procedures. Including a lot of epidurals. That's not what we are talking about though.

I'm talking about illegal street drugs. People get addicted to regular opioids then, switch to street drugs when they can no longer fill prescriptions. A huge portion of those are now cut with Fentanyl. It's killing more Americans per year than auto accidents or all forms of gun violence. Not arguing it's not a foolish thing, but a whole bunch of people are falling for it and dying.

I apologize if somebody else has said this, I haven't read the entire thread. But wouldn't it be just .... something.... if the US government was doing it to their own citizens like it did with poisoning alcohols during prohibition.

Where is “here?” It’s been in the US for a while.

Edit: here is a story about a girl in Houston in 2014.

that's some nasty stuff, the way it just rots the flesh away, but what do you expect injecting something made with gasoline and red sulfide into yourself.

I was on the patch for a few months the 75mcg dose, it didn't do anything for me. Nor did the suckers, but Fentora which you put in your lip like a dip worked better than any med I have ever been on. When I lost my AT&T insurance I had to stop talking it I was rx 8 boxes a month (28 in a box) but they were about $5,000 per box without insurance, and medicare only would cover 30% and that would automatically put me in the doughnut hole.

The skin contact deal is not a myth idk about killing you or whatever but handling large amounts and or long periods of drugs bare handed will most certainly make it into the body

Right, I'm sure if you wash your hands in the stuff for a half hour it probably would get absorbed into your system. The myth is that first responders have been soaking the stuff up from skin to skin contact from folks who have overdosed. That's a myth.
