I'm not sure. This is the bow hunters lease and only my second time out there. I'll try to find out the name of the creek/river for you.
As far as the surviving pigs go, they will be just fine since they were already weaned.

just a quick fact on wild hogs, that one sow in three years can produce 3000 pigs. when you figure in her offspring and their litters. hunted and trapped hogs for several years. killed 2 hogs on the charge dropped them with in just a few feet of me and my nephew, who i was telling he had better find him a tree.
If I was a bass I would be in a frying pan by now cause everything looks so darn good

Yes, they just aren't quite as thick as they are in the callahan/brown county area. But they are there

Great story & some awesome pictures!!! I wanna go kill a pig so bad, but cannot find anyone that will let me hunt on their land anymore! When I was a kid, I hunted everywhere, all I had to do was to knock on the landowner's door & ask if I could hunt! Those days are gone forever now!
Keep your powder dry & don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!!

Those look like piglets....or something. What happens to the surviving litter without the mom? Hopefully, a coyote or bobcat will make short work of them. They're feral hogs, and they are destructive and are prolific breeders. Those are some great shots! Thanks for sharing them!

Cool pics. I had an encounter this last year with a mad sow. Was bowhunting and ran across 2 sows and 30 or 40 piglets. Was trying to do a crawl/stalk to cut of the momma and the little ones that I had just seperated. Bad thing was it was in a very thick creek bottom and I had to crawl through the brush on my hands and knees. No trees of any size. I hear this God awful noise and look up and there one of the sows stands no more than 20 feet from me about to charge. No room for a bow shot so I reach down and low and behold I left my 1911 back at camp. Pulled my knife and charged her making some weird azz noises and she hightailed it out of there luckily. She was probably in the low 300's high 200's.
