When worked construction, I bought brown jersey gloves by the dozen. They are warm, thin enough to handle things and only cost about $1.50 per pair... the ones with rubber grips cost about $3. When they get wet, simply swap out to a dry pair and lay the wet ones out to dry.

I do the same when I fish except I cut the inside of the thumb and pointer finger so I can stick my bare thumps and fingers out to thumb the spool and grip the real. However, this is not absolutely necessary to grip the reel. When its time to grab a fish I pull one glove off with my teeth... the jersey glove slides off easily.

I'm sure there is a better solution out there... this is just what I do.
