I will chime in here and say with out a doubt the best crappie lake in this great state of Texas is hands down COOPER. Many many 3+ pounders come out of here.

LOP and Lewisville for size and numbers IMHO. I think LOP has the best quality of any lake in Texas. It take close to a 2# average to win a tournament on that lake. That doesn't happen just anywhere.

Lewisville is by far the biggest sleeper in north Texas. Ray Roberts is right up there near the top in North Texas.I'd take the fish we caught last weekend at Ray Bob anywhere except LOP in a tournament.
I know several that would vote for Cooper. I'd sure like to see it come back up.
The best lake is the one you know!

Cedar Creek is no good for crappie. I don't think there is any in that lake. You might check out all the other lakes in the state. LOL!

SandSpike, BOY--EE have you stirred up some opinions on the Best Crappie Lake. With my limited knowledge I will side with you as I have also implemented the 11" rule and with alittle work limit crappie are often obtained.

However I have to admit my teacher deserves alot of the credit!

For Austin Metro Area, Lake Travis by far. When you get tired of fishing, you can check out the other items floating on the water! wink
