Your trees will be fine. Just follow the label instructions and you'll have nothing to worry about.

We had our first frost here in WF last weekend, but it's been in the 80's before that, and ever since. Didn't get anything down on it before, it seems to be coming back, but it might just be wishful thinking. Pretty much what the rest of the yard has looked like since. Did I miss the opportunity? This was Monday This Morning

Make sure and put out pre-emergent by Feb 15 and you should have a good spring/summer. Fertilize by March 15 then repeat the process May 15 and June 15.

This was Monday This Morning My lawn looked similar from 10-11-19 morning. I put down the barricade on 9-30-19. First time I have used a pre emergent in 25 years. Built a new home and my new lawn is Tifway 419. Living in the country is challenging when it comes to weeds.

I just put mine out today, but I know it's too late. Will help some but won't shut it down like it's supposed to

I never use a pre emergent in the Fall. I just use Simazine [it does have some short lived pre qualities] in mid to late October. Different strokes for different folks

Different strokes for different folks It's been a while since I looked into Simazine. My understanding as you mention is it doesn't last long in clay soils and letches out. And I don't think it comes in a granular and as a lazy homeowner I love the granular. Prodiamine list Poa and Henbit as control on the label and I had good results using it on my prior lawn. And there is a 6 month application rate. Granted I could split those rates and do Sept and Dec to make sure it's fresh. I moved in exactly 1 year ago. The previous owner used a local lawn company for treatment and they did a good job. This will be my first real winter going into my program and I have very few weeds going into it. We'll see how the Prodiamine does in a couple months. It would be nice if you would chime in more often on our lawn discussions. I'd like to have your feedback, advice and overall discussions with you on these topics.

"many, many" moons ago, in the early '80's, i worked for a fertilizer guy and put out Ferti-lome weed & feed granules on yards...$10/bag...didn't cover much...my parents yard was 7 bags...$70 back then was alot for us...so i checked on the active ingredient...simazine...i put together the uglyist spray machine u've ever seen, but it worked and i made me some $$$ sprayin' yards with liquid simazine for the weeds and as much fertilizer, if any, as they wanted which cut the total cost per yard...i now use Princep with 41.9% active ingredient simazine in Oct / Feb...been really happy with the results
