Thank you for the great stories...what I read in short is your pond seems to be producing bites, but you're not executing due to line breakage. Those line breaks at the swivel could be any of the below...I'm happy to share what I've learned in case you were not aware.

Heat - line gets fragile when warm, most often than not, it's due to the line not being lubricated at the time of cinching down your knot; spit, spit, spit, then spit again on your line when tying your knot it needs the lubrication to reduce heat
Knot - your knots being used could be fragile, look into tying a palomar or double cinch they are very strong and easy to tie
Line - your line could just be old and fragile; not sure the age but it may be time to re-spool

Overall, since your fishing a pond the action sounds amazing. I bet its a rush experiencing all those top water bites. Thanks for sharing!
