I have definitely seen a difference in very clear lakes. Take it for what it’s worth but fishing offshore in the blue water the difference is magnified. Throw mono or braid on a ready pitch rod to a ling or dolphin and they won’t touch it. 40 pound premium fluoro and they are on it every time.

I've used invizx for years. I buy it in 1000yd spools and respool when needed. Did not know there were myths about FC.

The only issues I ever had was breaking off on hook set, when I was using 10lb line and setting it like on tv.
Or having it just break on the cast which was caused by the rods I was using, they broke braid on the cast also as it did the S wave and hit the first guide was my assumption. Once I ditched all those rods its been a non issue.
I now primarily use 15/20 lb.
I use 10-12 on my spinning rods for leader. Sometimes 15.
Tatsu is the only brand I use, I tried them all. Ive got reels still spooled up from JAN.

been fishing for over 70 years and yet to have a conversation with a fish.....but...if I ever do,the first question is gonna be "can you see fluorocarbon better than monofilament.....second question will be do they prefer salt on their plastics..... Fluoro supposedly being invisible is the least of the 4easons I use it. That is way far down the list. +1 If some of you are having a problem with fluorocarbon line the issue is you,,,not the line if you are using quality fluorocarbon line. Can you elaborate? I think the biggest issue many people have is not wetting the line before you cinch up the know. Poor knot tying also is more noticeable on fluoro. It might not be for everyone and that is perfectly fine. People should use what THEY like first and foremost.

tried flouro years ago, hated it,broke off way too many fish. I have started using it again with P-line. Have had zero issues with it. if you use it better tie a good knot, any fray, scrape, or professional overrun and you had better change it. I use the Eugene slip knot, watched James Niggemeyer to learn how to tie it.

Agree wetting line is important BUT just as important is to tighten it slowly even wet you can feel the heat..
A good way to learn the speed to tighten is put it in your mouth on your tongue as you tighten a few you can feel the heat build easily.

I can’t break off mono because my boat is only 19ft long. I have to reel in as much as I can , then walk to the back of the boat, climb on the motor, stick the rod out....still won’t break. It’ll stretch 25 ft! That’s the good news. The bad news is mono will stretch farther than I can move a 7’4” rod making a good hookset impossible. Give me InvisX, or Red Label in a pinch.

Yeah I tried mono again just for fun.... and holy cow it seemed like I needed to jump out of the boat on any hook set like your saying. In fact I did try and run towards the back as I set the hook after a few times. I cant believe I caught fish on it, but it also explains why I was set the hook and they were 20' from where I cast!

12# CXX for me 90% time. Like a little stretch and have no problem on hook ups. Love it.

When you say you tried going back to "mono," do you mean straight mono, or a copoly blend? What specific line did you try?

Yes, I am just your every day weekend fisherman and I have never had a problem with Invizx or PLine Halo.

The myth about fluorocarbon line is that it is not as good as monofilament line. Total nonsense.
