Maybe by day 10 he will ease up. Maybe even get his taste buds back so he don't have to burn those pork chops so bad.

I'm 24 years quit. no substitute. Well I tried the patch, but they were hard to light and tasted horrible.
I gained 30 pounds and still have it, added 20 more to keep the 30 company. I still crave a good smoke sometimes. But the cost keeps me away. expensive habit.

You got this.

Congrats man keep up the good work. I've quit about 12 years ago. At the time I was close to 2 packs a day. Now I can't be around smoking much anymore as it just stinks.

I stopped cold turkey 20 years ago after smoking for almost 20. Difficult at times the first two months but I got thru it. Today if I am around someone who lights up with a match it really bothers me for a minute or two. After the sulfur smell? goes away then it is all good. Absolutely one of the best decisions I ever made.

Screw them. Takes balls to quit smoking after 30 years.

When I quit smoking I actually became more motivated to take care of myself. I was always active at work but I began exercising/working out as a diversion maybe but didn't gain any weight

This is how it was for me. I started moving more, eating less. When the nicotine craving would hit me, I'd go walk a mile. If I got hungry, even though it had only been a few hours since I ate, I'd drink some water and go walk 2 miles.

No it doesn’t. My grandma didn’t have balls and she quit after smoking for more than 40 years. All it took was death.

Good for you!!!! I'd recon every quitter thinks they will never be so stupid to ever have a puff again, but many do. I did after having quit for over a year. Now, I switched over to the gum and work and have been using a Juul when out of the office. In my eyes it's be better of two evils.

Stay strong and don't forget how good it feels now. Also, my lungs have gotten so much better I can run 6 miles now, not sure if I could have run 60ft before.
