Yesterday I was fishing laydowns along a creek channel. I decided to try a 6 inch Senko type lure with a 3/16 pegged bullet weight. I had this setup on another rod with another lure so I just hooked on a Stik-O and just fired away and ---snag---snag---snag.... I was thinking what the ------!! I looked the rig over and it had a "fine" wire hook. I switched over to a Jason Christy EWG (a thicker wire hook) and solved the problem. The fine wire hook was not holding the plastic in the tex posed position. The thicker diameter hook had a better grip on the plastic and stayed in place better as I was contacting the timber.
