I once started an IT company, but I had to sell it, the assistant night janitor was schizophrenic and would lean his mop against the wall, then spend the entire night typing on a keyboard, but the computer wasn’t turned on. I kept firing him, but he kept getting into the building somehow. I began to fear for my safety, so I convinced him that social security was actually a pension I had set up for him, and I got him to “retire”. Sold the business because I was afraid he would come back later and do something really crazy.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

I've had the same 9-5 since '92 and have started 3 businesses in the process. One got sold to a larger competitor (Sell and make a little money or we'll just drive you out). The other 2 are going strong. No serious dividends yet, but they're both building capital that I'm re-investing rather than taking a paycheck yet. Starting a business is long game.

WOW Rudy, I asked this question because i have been working a full time job for over 27 years and things seem to be going away. I have also been doing a side business since 2002. I am thinking of doing it full time. But fear has a big hold of me. My Faith is big and I am not worried. I just need to step out and make it happening Fear is a sin, and not of God. Good luck. You got this Marine.

I'm thinking one of those businesses that paints bathing suits or clothes on nekkid wimmen…. If you were in Sturgis this past week, that would be a good business. My daughters boyfriends grandparents got wealthy doing face painting at all the fairs around the southeast. All cash business. They live on the water in Tampa. Don’t discount it.

I’ve had a roofing business for over 20 years, a restaurant for the last 15 years and just took over another restaurant last week. You will struggle and there is no guaranteed pay check.
It’s not for everyone..... what's the new restaurant? My father in laws health is failing and he wanted out. So the wife and I have been cleaning house and getting everything set up the way she wants it. It’s Catfish as well and has been at the same location for 35 years in Irving. Only a ten minute drive so we can float pretty easily as needed. Pappy's or Catfish house?

Everyone wants to go to heaven, nobody wants to die. It takes nutz to put all you have into something, sign a personal guarantee on a loan, go without a steady check. Different breed of cat signs his name on front of check. wisdom not to mention the unending commitment. my story so far has been a good one and I have few regrets.

Well. My full time job covers everything. My own business is just enough to cover a few bills. I enjoy doing it. As a mater of fact I have three side gigs. But the older I get. The less I want to do one of then. i am also a Personal trainer. I hit 50 this year and kinda want to get out of this one. One is fishing oriented and one is service oriented. I know the full time job I have is not going to make me rich, but it has allowed me to do much.
I had a well off friend of mine tell me. One thing that all Millionaires do is have at least 11 different forms of income. I took it to heart. When one is down another is up. And so on.

Do not hire family! Started my company in 1998 and sold it earlier this year. Now just play with a few properties (which I wish I started doing 20 years ago) and fish 3-4 days a week. Honestly the government makes it tough to have a small business. Having a good business lawyer and accountant will save you. Follow your heart and pray like crazy.
