Im currently running an express 20 foot bay boat. It has been a great boat and caught a lot fish for me and my customers. I would post picks of how its setup but cant never get them to load. It is forsale now and my new boat will be ready next month.

There is a bay stealth in the classified section that would be idea ! I have thought heavy about it for a back up . Having had a 20 ft bay stealth I regret selling! Currently running a 23ft falcon deluxe . Mr Kennedy spoke highly of it so it has to be a sound boat to get his thumbs up !!!

SOCALCARPER - Are you wanting/needing to do anything else with this boat besides catfish or is this strictly a fishing boat? That would make a difference in recommendations. Also, what type of water do you normally fish?
I fish out of a 22 ft Sailfish CC Bay Boat... It is a deep V with varied hull and high side walls. Made for ocean fishing. We got it because my family wanted front deck seating and safety with the high walls because we have a 4 year old. (1 year old when we bought). So, the boat is a fishing boat most of the year and then a family boat in the summer. (I fish in the morning then they meet up at lunch to cruise, tube and swim)
When I fish I almost always drift deep water on a large reservoir (Ray Hubbard mostly) and I feel safe in most all conditions.
If I had been the only person in the decision making I would have still went Center Console Bay Boat but more tournament fishing style with lower walls and more casting platform. And being able to have a trolling motor.
Just saying to consider what you need the boat to do. I love my boat but it would be terrible for the way others fish. That's why there are so many types of boats available.

I have a 21ft. bay boat I upgraded from a 17-1\2 ft. center console last October . It would depend on the type of water you want to fish and budget . If you want to fish tournaments then you need to consider the livewell size . I fish open water mostly if I fished in a lot of flooded timber I would consider a large aluminum boat with a decent vee, if you want room and comfort then maybe a pontoon .

I've had a 96 Wellcraft CC for 15 years. I'm about to upgrade to a newer CC that has a trolling motor.
