Haha thanks for the tip!

I agree with the love hate for that lake.
And I guess I a have been fortunate with the vehicle situation. I usually take everything out and leave it unlocked. Sometimes with the windows down just to make sure I don't get a busted lock or window.

don't know why i thought it was 12 something, i thought the previous record was 10.06.

anyway, there are bigger fish in there...

I agree I have seen 3 that would have broken it easily if they were turned in

Is it really that bad of an area? I understand not leaving anything in it, but leaving it unlocked with windows down so you don't get them busted? That sounds like a pretty rough area...

It is. A guy who works for me was the victim of an attempted car-jacking (or so he says) last Friday evening just a few miles from there.

Oh man, I am headed there with a buddy next week. Can anyone suggest the best place to park, aka least likely to encounter transient individuals? We were going to the Garret road ramp access

The parking lot at the ramp is the only place to park

I've tried that lake many times on boat, and just haven't found the fishing everyone talks about.. Usually throwing a watermelon red texas rig.. I've tried other techniques but never a bite. Haven't been back since late October but I'll try it again before too long. Even some of my friends have pics of them holding 7-8 pounders out of there, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. Good luck!

Never had any problems with break ins. Just take everything out and leave it at home. If you're taking a boat, before you back down make sure there's no one on the other side or you might mow down a kayaker. Who ever built/designed that ramp should be fired.

I fish it all the time in the winter. Break ins are no where near as bad as people say. Its way busier now so I think that helps. Garret rd people catch 3s and 4s pretty regularly. Throw a live goldfish and theres no telling what you'll catch, haha.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

Absolutely the wildest boat ramp I have ever used.
