I have to keep resetting my Garman live scope module under the deck every so often because it shows on the screen that it is not detecting the transducer. When I unscrew the power cable and screw it back in it resets it. Is anyone else having this problem. Garman says it’s probably my amps changing which is causing it to interfere with the module.

I’ve found when the battery gets low it will say transducer not detected. When you crank up the big engine then turn the unit back on it comes back to life. We’re about to put a new battery in.

Funny how that only happens to my live scope and not the other 3 Lawrence graphs. I’m also buying a Deka Agv on Friday to handle the Amps needed.

95% of the time it's a power issue. Whether it's a poor connection or voltage drop from starting motor, weak battery, or too small of wiring. Lowrance elite 9 recommends a 3 amp fuse. Livescope has a 7.5 amp fuse. My assumption is that the Livescope draws more amps and needs more to operate.

Have you went into your unit and manually selected the transducer? I had to do that with one of my units because it would drop out every now and then. This wasn’t electrical or connection related because it hasn’t happened since.

I was having the same issue, sometimes it was taking 10 or 15 times of restarting to get it rolling and it would randomly drop every time I started my boat. Did an update and it seemed to help for a few days and suddenly it started again. I went and bought another transducer and switched the box and transducer and haven't had a single problem since. Sent my other off for warranty.

Same problem here. I cleaned all connections with contact cleaner and applied dielectric grease, helped a lot.

Cheers, cheers

No it’s not funny. The live scope module alone probably draws more amps than your other 3 lowrance units combined. Put your voltage on the Garmin graph. At 10.7 and below you will get the message I was Told by the tech

You likely need to add another battery in parallel to double your amp hours

I've had the Livescope setup for over a year now. I run it along with three 10" units and two 7" units off a series 31 battery that is my starter battery. A few times, after fishing all day, especially if I've run the live well I'll get a low voltage shutdown starting the big motor. But my starter battery is at least four years old.

Ring fry knows Garmin better than anyone here, take his advice to the bank. It doesn't matter if it's a walmart battery or the most expensive battery ever made, if the battery is good you have issues in your switches, connections, or wire size. Run a minimum 12 gauge wire directly to the battery with a fuse as close to the battery as possible, if the battery is good it'll run any and all units.

Well, I put About 150-200 hours a year on my boat, use it to power live scope, 2 12’s, and 10 and if you tournament fish and run your live wells hard in the texas heat it has ran my single 31 down more than a few times where I had to jump over. Could be from the amount of use and recharges I do on the battery but I have to add a 2nd
