Went out there yesterday and got 3 fish total, but all 3 where keepers. These fish arent being their normal aggressive selves, and I cant figure out why. My thought is that theres just to much bait for them to eat.

I was on the lake yesterday, 6/15. Windy, citidiots were running amuck. I did manage to find some crappie on river minnows, bit was really finicky.

On the lake today, and the fishing is starting to pick up. Also got about 3 of rain out there.

What went wrong with the good springtime fishing people were predicting?
I know the old girl is a tough lake to fish, and always has been, but the fishing should have at least been somewhat better after the stockings.

I know the old girl is a tough lake to fish, and always has been, but the fishing should have at least been somewhat better after the stockings. Could have had a great shad spawn and the fish are just full? Its frustrating though because, I had been doing good out there until probably May. After that the fish have just been way more elusive.

Majority of the fish are living deep and harder to catch. I also think the strikers they have put in there is thinning the herd some as well. I do not think they had a good spawn or survival rate for those who were able to spawn. She is turning into our old lake again, tough bite with the occasional 10 pounder

Was last there July 11th. Wondering if Grout Scout and DHolding may be on to something. Tried 5 feet to 45 feet, pretty slow. Lake was full of half pounders spawning in the Spring. Like 30-40 per day catch rate.
Figured drop shot would work but it too was only slightly productive.

They probably all suspended out over deep water chasing bait. Happens alot when it gets really hot. On Decker, they routinely school in 50-60ft. You can idle around and see them 8-10ft down over 50ft of water. You'd think the lake is dead sometimes

Is it worth trying to fish over thanksgiving break or no? Only have two days off from school, and have really been wanting to fish it.
