Grandview, TX.
Moved here 26 years ago with the intent on staying here when I retired. Nothing has happened to change that

Either where we are now in Fork area or a small coastal northern California town like Half Moon Bay, Moss Beach or Point Reyes Station.

I could retire yesterday if I so desire and we will more than likely split time between our home here in Fritch and our place at Lake Fork.

MERCY - not receiving what you deserve
GRACE - receiving what you don't deserve

America's MESS = God's miracle fixes
I'd rather walk with God with no questions answered than to walk thru life without Him and know the answers

East Texas between Longview and Hallsville, been here since 1995 and retired hear in 2018. Unless we find someplace my wife likes better than where we are now I will stay here till I can't take care of it anymore.

I decided to retire in 2005 at age 65 and live in Albany,Ga. where I'd lived and worked since 1988....I debated about moving to house on Seminole or Eufaula but my house is paid for here and it would have taken a big chunk of the funds I had saved up just to buy a house on the lake....plus a buddy and I owned an older RV that we kept on Seminole.....I used it quite a bit when I first retired but gradually quit using it and finally gave it away to a couple of buddies...
several other factors entered into my decision to stay here...not only do all of my friends live here but my favorite hobbies are fishing, duck and dove hunting....we got great fishing and dove hunting and I can go to Ark. 2-3 times each year for the duck hunting..
not rich by any means but we had everything paid for when we retired and with mine and wifes social security,401K income and income from some annuities I bought back in the 80's,we've traveled all over north America several times including driving the trans Canada and Alaskan highways plus I've been to argentina hunting and Mexico fishing every year since I retired....

I am supposed to retire in 1 year and 10 months. I am know we will keep the house in Hurst but sell the RV at Fork and put in a park model so we can have a dishwasher and washer/dryer. We do plan on taking a cruise every other month. But I might change my mind and work a few more years. Idk.

I always thought it would be at Lake Whitney, but the older I get the less I like the heat...I'm thinking a small mountain town in New Mexico, or up in Montana, or Alaska. I love Texas, but dang, the summer heat and humidity are a beating.
