Knowing that Texas will go through years of extreme drought and years of extreme rain, is there an area that seems to have less severe fluctuations, or lakes that are managed to stay at more constant levels?
Off the top of my head and glancing at water data for Texas, I see that these lakes tend to stay closer to constant level.

it's all based on the Colorado, but LBJ and Lake Austin come to mind. McQueeny is a pretty constant level private lake fed by the Gaudalupe.

That was one of my original thoughts, and certainly explains Squaw's very low water level fluctuation. Looking at Sommerville and Martin Creek historical data, they can have wild fluctuations. Coleto Creek looks to not fluctuate much

Bastrop, Fayette. Both power plant lakes.

White Rock, but the big Bass there are smarter than most. White Rock and Bachman hardly ever get low due to all the golf course and private home irrigation/run off that feeds both lakes.

Many of the lakes that are thought to be constant level are not. Most of the water in lakes is under long term contract with a small amount of the contract now being delivered, but as demands increase, more will be used and the levels will fluctuate more. Some that have always appeared to be constant level will not necessarily be constant level in the future.

power plants dont mean poo on lake level. Its the lakes with the strongest HOA or lobbys in Austin. A good example is Granbury. The Pecan Plantation screams everytime anything threatens to change the lake level. There was a rumor they even tried to sue Mother Nature for lack of rain one time

LBJ, INKS, Marble Falls, Austin but they are "not constant level" but officially pass thru lakes.

I have lived on Lake Palestine for 20 years. The lake has been a foot over my dock a couple of times ( means 4 ft high over spillway) and low enough for no water under the boat lift also twice. this from 2011 ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-470-11837-img_1131.jpg) MO
