Yep, that's why microwaves have turntables. If the wave pattern was even inside the box, it wouldn't need one. The trick is to never put the food right in the middle of the turntable because then whatever food is in the center never gets anything but whatever the pattern in the center is, whether it's too much or not enough. Move the food out toward the edge of the turntable.
