We have been waiting for a day like yesterday for weeks.

Between the winds and cold fronts it was so nice to be off from work when mother nature decided to be nice for a change.

Fished yesterday from 8am-3:30pm.

Lake X

All fish caught 15 feet or less.

90% spawned out.

Some males still had their PJ's on.

Rods: ACC Crappie Stix 5'6" Dock Shooters and I was using the ACC 10 Footer with Winn Grips.

Reels: Lews Mach Speed SLP Low Profile Bait Casters

Line: Power Pro Super Slick Braid 20 pound in Aqua Green

Leader: Vanish Gold in 8 pound

Jigs: Feathers with Small Profile.

Colors: Pepop Grapefruit Limeade. Fearless Jigs Purple Body with a yellow tail. Green Body with a Green Tail.

No Minnows used.

Timber, Brush, and Concrete fished.

Loaded up on the Crappie while spending a beautiful day on the water with both my parents.

It was a most excellent day and one we will never forget.

Those are 6" Deck Boots by Xtra Tuff. We both have them in Mandrake.

https://www.xtratuf.com/collections/men-type-deck-boots

Huk.com also has a 6" Deck boot called the Rogue Wave in various colors.

Very comfortable.

We did have a blast!!

Are those fillets in a roasting pan? How did you cook them?

We put the fillets in the roaster pan as we clean them and before bagging them.

As far as cooking them I personally prefer to put the fillet in an egg wash then toss it into a bag of Kellogg's Corn Flake Crumbs. Then Fry them up. I like the Corn Flake crumbs better than corn meal.

The Corn Flake crumbs are usually on the baking isle at the grocery store.

There has been previous threads on this forum with some outstanding recipes.

Crappie no matter how you cook it brings a smile to my stomach and face.

Yum.
