Easy peasy. Took a picture of this one cuz it was probably the skinniest striper I'd ever seen. 25" anorexic fish was released to fatten up. Caught on a Live Target Threadfin Shad Swimbait 4.5", 1oz. Rod: Megabass 7'11" Launcher Reel: Daiwa Tatula CT Type R

Any recent reports from below Denison Dam? I'm planning on heading up there tomorrow morning if the release thru the turbines is still going on.

My son and I went to Denison Dam this morning and we both limited out with 5 stripers each. Fish were in the 16" to 22" range. We started out at 7:00 a.m. and were on the road home by 10:00 a.m.. It was a beautiful morning to be fishing the below the dam today..

Very nice! Im finally back home after chasing fish down on the coast from POCO to Galveston during the windiest and most God Awful fishing conditions. Got to test out some new gear and tackle. Picked up a new egg beater while I was visiting Roys in Corpus. Cant wait to put her to work at DD this week.

Had the opportunity to fish below the Denison Dam this morning, 4-24-19, and again this afternoon. I did manage 3 stripers about 2 lbs each but I saw lots of fish being caught. Some with cork and jig and some nice fish on top water plugs. Most of the fish I saw being caught were on the Texas side on the wall and just down on the rocks. Color did not seem to matter. Largest that I saw looked to be around 10 lbs.

TheGoat, please let us know how it goes. Thinking to go on Saturday morning. That is an 1-hour drive from Dallas, and want to make sure fish is still there.

Lol.... if you want to catch 12 fish all day long.. throw minnows close to the face of the dam and let drift a little down stream and repeat get there early for some reason folks love super small stripers

As long as I am catching, do not really care what size. 12" is fine with me. Of course 22" is better, and ~30" will be my personal best.

What size rods are needed right now? Do I need to bring my surfcasters, or 8' for down on the rocks? Jigs, topwater plugs, live shad? Taking the family up there tomorrow and looking for any info on the conditions currently.
Doug, camo hat with velcro patches, ugly stik gear bag.
