>>>>QUESTION<<<< will an HDS 12 Gen 2 interlink with an HDS 12 Gen 3 ???
I would like to run 2 12s off my Gen 3 Total scan transducer ,,,,,,, or at least be able to co-plot waypoints
Yes, use an Ethernet cable and theres not problems with this combo.
Edit: clarify something. You only want to see what the gen3 is showing, you dont want to use the totalscan on the gen2s?
CORRECT I just want to use the 2nd graph for mapping but want to be able to put waypoints on the 3 and they show up on the 2 map
Yes it will do that, Ethernet is the better way to do it; but nmea will also transfer them if all the graphs are turned on (if you dont have a enet cable). Enet shares everything though, sonar, maps, structure scan, wpts.
I'm looking to put a overlay map on my elite 7 HDI. I have watched several videos that use SAS.planet and insight to achieve this. The area that I fish the most is Port O'Connor, does anybody have or know of a map that is post Harvey? Google earth is still pre-Harvey and the other map pictures were taken on windy days to where you really cant see the structure until your zoomed in to far to navigate with.
I currently have a 9 gen 2 in my console and a gen 2 in the bow. I would like to have fish revels, better side/down image clarity so I was wanting to install a 9 Live on a gimbal mount by the the console. It will have the 3 in 1 active imaging transducer. How can I make the three units work together? The gen 2s are currently Nmea together and the side/DownScan work off of one lss2 on the rear transom.
I'm pulling my hair out. 2 carbon units with 18.3 update. 1 with totalscan and 1 with AI 3-1. I have no history with these units prior to 18.3 update. Both units do not auto adjust on depth. I select auto but it has zero affect. Actually if it's on 20' and I choose auto, it says auto 20'. I've read many people having same issue even before 18.3 and a hard/soft reset is usually suggested, but nobody ever comes back and gives an update.
My HDS 9 at my console is getting major interference when my front unit is turned on. Anybody have an idea of how to fix it. It does it even when the power is turned off to the trolling motor. Thanks.
Transducers running on same frequency. Change freq. on one or the other. Also check Lowrance web site for most recent software updates and make sure they are installed on your units.

Actually if you look at the pics above they are on different frequencies. Ones on 200 and the other is showing 455. It does look like electrical interference though. Is there a livewell pump on when its doing this? Also are the graphs wired to a terminal block or directly to the batteries?
Thanks. I'll check this to see if this might be the problem. The front graph was installed by another person but I believe it is connected to existing wiring of some sort up on the front of the boat.

So I just purchased a Lowrance Elite 7 ti 2 and turned it on and the chart wont come up with the C map I went to settings and clicked on C Map US base and scroll over to lake Conroe and it doesn't show nothing on the map but light blue. Is there something im missing not turning on right?
Ok im real new to this graph stuff so i apologize in advance if i dont use the correct terminology but i need some assistance. i bought a used bass boat to captain for my son to do high school tournaments. The boat came equipped with older lowrance units. The bow has an hds 5 gen 1 that works fine. The console is an hds 8 gen 1. It also has a structure scan box with i assume an lss1 trandsucer. It has another transducer that is in the boat but not installed. Its the type that goes down in the hull of the boat. my hds 8 does not read water temp or depth as it sits. Can the lss1 pick that up or do i need a second transducer to read sonar, depth, and temp? I would like to buy a transom mount instead of the through the hull type if i need a second one but dont know which one to buy. Please help if at all possble. i am lost when it comes to these things.
You can get depth and temp from the HDS 8 by going to the Advanced Screen and selecting the ducer you want to use for those readings. If you have LSS 1 ducer, it is probably located at the transom. It will be about 5 inches long. To read sonar, you need a 2D ducer, like a HST-WBL? - something like that (can't remember exactly). It too, may have depth and temp. There are advantages of having the other uninstalled ducer in the hull, assuming it is the puck kind. PM me your phone number and I can talk you through some things. FYI - I am not on TFF 24/7. If you don't have the manual, it is available on the Lowrance site.
