That’s a great work! Looks terrific. Can you convert the 9,8 to a 15hp. I believe that the only difference between my 15 hp Evinrude and a 9.9 was the carburetor and the cowl sticker.

Thanks, Pappybear. It's a really nice flats boat for one or two fishermen. My 1982 Merc 9.8 2-stroke is the same engine as the 7.5, not the 15. It only weighs 65 pounds. Lots of engines are the same as a different HP, except for the carb and decals. The old Merc 15 thru 25 were the same. I had a Mariner 20 that was the same as a 40!. My new Yamaha 15 weighs 111 pounds! I think the gain in torque and HP will offset the weight gain. Glad I have a handy tree for my cable hoist. IslandJim
