Hey all, the husband and I just moved to a new place with a decent size pond and we decided to throw out a net and see what was in there. Do any of you know what these fish might be? I was thinking maybe crappie the little one? Not real sure!
The bigger one has a little bit of red on the outer part of his tail.

First one is a Sunfish. The larger one is a Tilapia.

Oh, and welcome to the TFF.

The bluegill is a member of the sunfish family. There are several others in the family.
See the Wikipedia write up for a good explanation.

The bluegill is a great eating fish. I am not sure how well they will compete with the Tilapia in your pond. Feeding them with a commercial fish pellet will make them both grow faster.

First one a sunfish, and second one is a tilapia. Personally, I would try to get rid of the tilapia to limit competition with other species such as bass.

Yep, sunfish and tilapia. Get the tilapia out as they can overpopulate.
