I've met him at several events. Simply one of the nicest people I've ever met and a true gentleman. I'll always be a fan.

I've known him since I was a kid, my dad fished with him many times and they are good friends. What you see on TV is the real Jimmy, genuine and funny. We flew back on the same plane from Alaska one time, my wife was 8 1/2 months pregnant and asked him how his fishing went. He hadn't had much luck and she started telling how many salmon and halibut she had caught. He told her it wasn't fair because that was 2 against 1.

I fished with him once on Texoma and we all went out to dinner that night. He's exactly as everyone has described him ... nice guy and lots of fun to hang out with.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Seems like a great guy, Id like to fish with ol Jimmy sometime. Best hes a hoot to be in a boat with. My grandfather was good friends with him. They fished Texhoma a lot. Before my uncle died he went and filmed an episode with him. Not sure if it ever aired or not. Uncle died at 16. I've got an old school Jimmy Houston hat he signed. That is really cool coach.

Jimmy Houston is super cool! Back in 1998 when the Bass Pro opened up in North Carolina he was there for the Spring Classic and I stood in line and had him sign his book and a hat for me! Still have that book and enjoy watching him on tv! And YES I do KISS bass before releasing them!!

I remember when he gave that talk at the Fishing for Freedom, He said what ever you did to catch your last fish keep doing that even if it was making a birdsnest in your reel, if that caught a fish then you should get a birdsnest on EVERY CAST, Very down to earth gentleman and really funny.

I got to fish with Jimmy on the lake behind his house. I won a auction to buy the kids in the small town I live in state champ rings. Jimmy donated the trip. Hank Parker called him while we were fishing and he put his phone on speaker and they talked 30 minutes and there was no doubt who he was talking with. After the day was over his wife Chris and fried some fish and he invited me to have dinner with them. He kissed fish and did it all it was something I will never forget. We whacked'em just to make it sweeter!!
Jimmy is as good as they come.....
