I have a gen 2 helix 7 at console it is a side imaging unit can I run a Ethernet cable to gen 3 mega?
On bow of boat? Also would it be worth it to put side imaging on trolling motor?

It will only network if it's a Gen2n unit. It's gotta have the "N" in the model name

I use Side Imaging units at the bow with a Side Imaging transducer on the trolling motor. Been doing it for 10 years. The only thing that has changed is the unit model.

Are they networked? I think my helix 7 si is a gen2n was going to buy a gen 3 mega 7si gps may get one that has ipilot link just in case I ever go to a ultrex. The one without ipilot is cheaper.

There is no Helix that has iPilot LINK.
iPilot LINK is in a Minnkota trolling motor with Ethernet connection to Humminbird Ethernet capable units.
A Helix 7 G3 is NOT linkable, the Helix 7 G3N is networkable. No different than the G2 and G2N Helix 7 models.
There is no Ultrex that does not have at least iPilot. You have two choices: iPilot or iPilot LINK.
