I watched Deadwood a few years back and since I've been there several times had some interest in it even though the language was a little rough. Acting was very good as were the characters. Since it's PPV I'll probably not watch besides I'm hip on watching The Blacklist.

Good show.. guessing it got canceled early because I felt like there should have been a few more seasons to wrap it up.. Ill for sure watch the movie..
Its shameful good shows get the axe when their is so much garbage on tv, makes you wonder who in the heck is watching that [censored] to keep it running for 10 years It did get cancelled prematurely. There was supposed to be more seasons and the ending was abrupt. I forget the reason given by HBO, but its been talked about a lot and I think thats why a movie is finally being made.

It's cancellation had something to do with the Soprano's wrapping up the series and budget problems. I forget exactly what the deal was, but HBO screwed the pooch cancelling Deadwood. I think the show is one of the best cable series of all time, top 3 for me. It is extremely vulgar, I know people who can't get past that to enjoy the series for the great writing and acting it is. I've seen every episode a few times now over the years. Can't wait for the movie, I think it premiers in May or June, and picks up 10yrs after the series left off (the series start was set in 1876). For those who haven't seen it, it's not a documentary, but does feature a lot of actual historical people and events.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

It is vulgar, and makes you wonder if they really spoke that way back in those times. The contrast between proper English grammar and verbage and the obscenities mixed in is funny in its own right. The acting is some of the best I've ever seen. The preacher faithful to the very end, the Doc questioning God on the dementia of the preacher, Calamity Jane and Charley Utter mourning the death of their friend Wild Bill. Some serious acting there for sure.

Deadwood is fantastic. Looking forward to the movie.
The problem with TV now is that the good shows are expensive to make and reality TV BS is dirt cheap to make. Doesn't matter that the ratings aren't great cause it's so cheap to produce. I was really disappointed that Marco Polo got cancelled from Netflix, it was just too expensive to make.

I believe that there is a movie in the works for Deadwood. I read where the characters in the series were real people. There is a word that Swearingen taught the Chinese guy and that word is the only one he can say. What is that word?? Aww, it will come to me. He could say 3 words in English... ________er, swearingen, and San Francisco. Bygolly, You are correct Swergen was one of the words along with that word....Aw well, maybe if I watch the movie I will know it when I hear it. I'll take your word on San Francisco.

"Latecomers I guess"
It's 2019 Bob Yes, I remember that now. So was this Deadwood like in 1953 or something? Here is the EB guy Willam Sanderson. He was also Larry, who had a brother named Darryl, and another brother named Darryl.
