What..A fun tournament "potlicker classic" 7:00- 12:00 followed by a Get together/ fish fry...
This is a family friendly event for the whole family.

We had a great time last year with this event and are looking forward to another great time this year...if you are interested in comming pm me or call me (903 918 6653).

I have two extra cabins and Three RV sites reserved and available for anyone who wants to stay the night....many of us will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday....you will need to bring all your own bedding and personal items if you stay in the cabins ...they are clean but sparse of amenities.

Potlicker classic details-- 25.00 per boat 7 fish stringer and a 5.00 big fish pot...you can have as many people in your boat as you can legally hold... heaviest stringer takes all...some of these details ars subject to change ...this is a no pressure tournament mainly bragging rights and a little folding cash.
If you want to fish the tournament, and or need a boat partner speak up and lets work all that out.
Also comment about what you may want to bring as far as food and supplies go.

I will be bringing my fish fryer and oil...my wife is going to make up some pies.

I know there is some unfinished business from last year ( something about a tarter sauce contests )

I have not fished Murval in 30 years and never fished a tournament at all.
I am really thinking about coming down to meet everyone.
Tell me a little about how the tournament works.

It's just pretty much a bragging rights tournament....heck, I don't even remember if we had an entry fee last year. T-Box and Hickory Nut won but I don't know what they won.....they did all the cooking so it worked out real good for the rest of us. Come on down and fish with us...Avinger's not that far away. If you mostly fish LOP, ya might want to re-spool with some heavier line....

Planning on bringing paper plates and paper towels. I also have a 2 basket Cajun fryer and peanut oil I can bring. Best I remember the only thing crapicat talked about more than me front ending him was his tartar sauce recipe being good. Looking forward to trying that out this year. I guess the plan is to try and catch enough on Friday for the feed on Saturday like we did last year?

I will have the ice cream fixins and several bags of Thermocline Monkey Business Mr Frys. Your Murvall fish just can"t resist em.

Yea, I�m not much on fishing tournaments, of any kind, but I do make exceptions,on occasion, and this is one of those occasions. Good ole Etex fun and hospitality...we just call it a tourney to get Hickory Nut to show up and make that homemade ice cream! We do have some good cooks that show up, but Troy is too skinny to qualify!

It�s easy...bring a few bucks to throw in a pot,go fishing, as you usually do...or if you are more serious, follow Tbox around (he always beats Troy to those hog holes), or follow Bush Hog around (he has the sweetest wife, and I don�t know what she sees in him...must be those big fish!) then catch some fish(or not, it�s your choice), weigh some if you want (either way, they are lunch)...listen to the big fish BS (compliments of Tbox/ Troy/) and see some big fish pics compliments of Bush Hog(he always has the best pics,( photo shop maybe??), then try some excellent Tartar Sauce (compliments of Crapicat) with your fish, listen to some more BS from Hickory Nut while he makes up some outta sight homemade ice cream (or whatever he calls it). Also, don�t forget Misuss Troys pie...she is WAY nicer and a MUCH better cook than Troy! Honestly, I am not sure HOW she puts up with him, with all that bragging about how great his Tartar sauce is....Jeez, he just needs to stick with cleaning fish!

Well things seem to be coming together, I have about 20 people on the list who are coming, not including extra family members....I still have a couple of cabiins and three rv sites reserved for anyone wantimg to make a weekend of it...

Me and Dave should be there. I still owe your boy a ride in the #28 boat.

Steve and I smacked em good today. We took all the 2 pounders and staked them out under some docks......bring it!

What nights are the cabins for Troy and how much? Little man said it's been a while since he's beat up on Murvaul crappie and he might need to come remedy that!
