It is as much fun and excitement for me when she catches a fish as it is when I catch one. She caught two yesterday, the first was 3.23 lbs and then this 7.18 lb big girl. I did not catch anything. It was a great afternoon on the lake with the wife.

I appreciate the comments about me putting her on the fish. However, that is not how it works with us. We fish together, she is as competent an angler as I am. I rig her poles for her the way she wants them (c-rig, Texas-rig, shaky head, etc) and we decide where in the lake to go together. She picks out and puts on her own baits, tells me I am too close or too far from the bank or trolling along at the wrong speed. I will help remove the hook on occasion, but for the most part she is on her own. In other words, I don't take her fishing, we go fishing together.

Nice fish, what were they biting on? My boat's at the marina there although fishing Sunday/Monday out in east Texas with a buddy.

Congrats to both of you. I actually got a 7.73 off my dock on a crappie rig/minnow 3 weeks ago so you never know where you'll find a big girl.

Update: Yesterday (Sunday 4/14), we went back to the spot where she caught the 7.18. I caught one dink. She suggested we go to another spot we call "the laydown." I caught two there, each over 5 lbs. She put me on the fish! If you ever see us on the lake, say hello--blue G3 with a 90 Yamaha.
