truckers cause almost all heavy traffic. Yes we need them, but stay in the slow lane!! 99% they are passing another trucker and they take 2-3 miles to pass. You can tell they just have it on cruise control and are going 2mph faster so they move over to pass blocking 20 cars from passing. Watch next time you drive south on 35 A lot of company trucks are governed at 65 or 70 mph. When I drove for FFE, it was governed at 62.5. They are on a schedule for deliveries. Also, they only get so many hours a day to drive. The sand haulers out here in West Tx. are the real bad ones. Don't hesitate to run anyone, including an ambulance off the road.

I'd be okay with making a single lane for all truck traffic on major highways. Toll road that lane, throw up some cameras and fine drivers who are caught trying to drive in other lanes. Driving 35 and it is a constant nightmare with these trucks. you do realize that the interstate system was originally devised by the Eisenhower administration for movement of military equipment and general freight, don't you?

I've been driving over 40 years. Yes drivers are not the same as they used to be. And it's not the drivers fault the majority of the time. Some truck driving schools train them for only 2 I helped one the other day As to what Moto complained about heres the deal. Truck drivers are taught to look ahead. Way ahead not just a few hundred yards. We look as far as we can. Unlike most 4 wheelers. We also always try to have an out. A way to go if anything happens in front of us. The driver Moto is talking about tried to do the right thing. In his defense we put our turn signals on for a reason. Something is going on ahead that gives us reason to get over. But the negative is that when when we use ourturn signal other vehicles speed up. So yes he may have come over a little fast.we do that when we get blocked in. And since we are on turn signals. 90% of cars do not use there turn signal. I'm at a time in my life that if you show me respect. I do the same to you. IAnd vice versa. I'm not going to help a vehicle out if they do not use a signal. If any of yall rode with me and saw what we see out here. It would amaze you that there aren't more wrecks. There is not day that goes by that I dont do something to have an accident.
No one makes us drive a truck. So yes it's our own fault if we get upset. If you eat it. Use it, play with it, or wear it. A truck touched in somewhere. We work around the clock. The hours are terrible and the life style is not condusive to a great life. But we do it. I'm fortunate to drive for a very good company. That helps tremendously.
If a cop rode around town with me and gave out tickets for no turn signal or using a phone to text while they drive . Ii could put a huge dent in the cities debt. Cars cut us off numerous times. No turn signal, texting while driving or reading a book . Yes I've seen the reading a book
And not only do I beg to differ with poster that said the majority of traffic jams are the trucks fault. I will tell you that your information is not only wrong. But it's so far off from being true it's crazy. But I will say that its mostly cars that call traffic jams. When there is a wreck a 4 wheeler damn near stops to look at it. If they see a cop sitting in the media they slow down to 50 or 60. When a sign says right or left lane closed yall stay in the lane that's closed and try to get in. That slows every one down. I could go on. But I'm tired.

When I see big rigs in front of me and someone is on the side of the road I have this amazing ability to predict the future and know odds are the big rig will want to turn into the left lane. Then my car has this another amazing invention where I press on one of the pedals at my feet and my car slows down allowing the big rig to turn in front of me. Sometimes I even flash my lights to let them know they have clearance in front of me to make the lane change. Once this super minor stressful occurrence happens, I continue on my way.

“If you got it ...a truck brought it.”
Every time I get huffy at a trucker I say that to myself, these things make the world go around, if they stopped service, my and just about every other business is done, and we’d be back to eating out of a garden and wild game.
