Chime in here on this. And to be clear I like weigh ins and seeing fish (a lot) but it's 3pm and we just got to watch the winner live in real time. No one cut off the leaderboard or stopped filming early so there was some suspense at the weigh in. We watched it, we know the winner and we are done for the day. We don't have to now wait two more hours for it to be final.

So what say you? Still need the weigh in or nah?

I love MLF. Not sure what tournament you're talking about on todya, but MLF is about all I watch on TV. I love the live stuff with a scale & ipad in each boat. I hardly keep up with BASS or FLW or any of that, except to occasionally check how our local guys are doing.

Don't need a weight in, like the MLF format better.

Just getting ready for FLW weigh in. Did not watch any LMF. I watched FLW when I had time. Heard they dont pay the officials except for their expenses. Dont think personally thats right but. If someone wants to work for free thats their business.

I agree completely. Never understand how crowds get excited seeing some one shake a bunch of 3 pounders on stage. False drama. Post the weights; pay the winner; head to the house.

Mark, I agree with you for the most part.

I also think that if it was feasible the big trails might consider going that way in the future. But when you have 360 teams on the water for a one day tournament it might not really fit the format.

Some big thinkers are going to have to put on their thinking caps to figure out how it might work.

I can see your point but would rather see the 5 biggest bass weighed in on the boat...... however, if my son was ever a pro fisherman I and my family would love to see him walk across that stage. Seeing Bryan lat and his family when he won made my day.

I like both ways. BPT format is probably better for Sponsor exposure. Weigh in crowds typically aren't very large. Sponsor $ is where its at for the make a living Tours going forward. Anglers were basically sponsors with the old high entry fees. That ship sailed in the last year.

Also different size fields work best with different formats. Both will exist going forward.

I still like the 5 fish tournament format. That being said weigh ins are a drag and drawn out. Watching live the final minutes of elimination days and championship Sunday of BPT is by far the most entertaining format.
