I’m sure the posts about HUGE females ALMOST biting help to ease the amount of pressure it gets.
But I will say if you can’t catch a biggun on Athens this time of year you need to take up golf Well, how 'bout you show us how to do it Richard Cranium. If a big female will stay there long enough to look at my lure I’ll make her bite it. Wait till she turns side ways and run by her jaw and she’ll bite it. Ok Clark.....whatever you say......Dude, you cannot be serious. Okay you asked how people do it, that’s how. Next time I won’t give you advice. All I’m saying if a fish a will stay in bed when you flip in it and you can’t catch it it’s the Indian not the arrow

What I can't understand is why you want more pressure on the lake, do you enjoy going to a lake when there are 10 boats on every spot you want to fish? Cause that's what your gonna get!

What I can't understand is why you want more pressure on the lake, do you enjoy going to a lake when there are 10 boats on every spot you want to fish? Cause that's what your gonna get! He is soooo proud of his 1 and 2 pounders he can’t keep them hidden from the world.

Is there a bunch of kids up in here? Y'all act like it. Let the dude be proud of his catches instead of bashing. But seriously 2222, if a fish will stay in its bed when flipped at, it should be caught. It just needs to be ticked off by throwing on it's head with heavy weight, thrown past her and smash bait against her side, and speed up number of times you flip in there. Then, BAM! Change baits often, too.

Athens used to be one of the best lakes in Texas. Such a beautiful place too. Still is. Yep --- still is. just need to know when to go & where to go. Helps when you live in town. no need to fish with the crowd -- the fish are there all the time.

Athens used to be one of the best lakes in Texas. Such a beautiful place too. And apparently it's somehow my fault if it gets a little crowded. I love the place.

I fish Athens quite frequently...I don't think I've ever seen as many boats as I have this year...not to change the subject..but I was told property owners on Athens were trying to have the lake closed to public use...anyone else heard anything on this??

SOMETHING NEW EVERY YEAR ON ATHENS . LAST YEAR THEY WERE KILLING SOME OF THE GRASS SO PLEASURE BOATS COULD HAVE MORE USE OF THE LAKE AND IT WAS PAID BY THE HOA. HOW COULD THEY CLOSE A LAKE TO THE PUBLIC ? ANYONE ?
