Our biggest today.....you guys need to leave the Lew alone and head for Poo at GV lake. Its on fire. Caught a bunch just coming in. Flipped for a real big one but she wasnt quite interested yet. Ill be back tomorrow, though. Come join the fun. Lots of bucks thatll try and run your bait outta water. I am confused by your wording but you were on GV right?

Try fishing golf course by the dam they are in staging areas there. When you get one to commit then slow down, there are several fish usually there with it. Look for little humps and points just off the bank inside the pockets doesn't take much of a rise to hold them, but they are not at the back yet should be soon. good luck

We pounded Lew all day yesterday. not a bite. We did fish a lot of new water just to check out some new stuff. We went in the creek on the east side of the soccer place in the Colony. We went wayyyyyyyyyy back in there. the water got clear, temp was right around 60, but it was the dead see. Not even sandbass in there. We did see a lot of dead shad floating in coves on the main lake. Curious about that.

Theres been small, dead or barely swimming shad on the surface for about 4 weeks now. Weird. I figured due to cold water temps.

This is my theory after not getting a bite in the last 4 trips. I have found 60-62F water but the areas were loaded with dying shad. These shad are too easy of a meal to care about anything I throw at them. I did see a bald eagle though. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-41481-6078-original.jpg)

Awesome pic! I've never seen one in the immediate area.
The number of dead and dying shad out there is astonishing. I wonder why they're dying and why it's only affecting threadfin.

Went today with a buddy and walked the bank in Stewart creek park. A lot of dead shad as wel. No fish on beds and we walked a couple miles worth. North wind kindly killed it for us I think
