I got this email along with the 3 pictures from my neighbor. "9 lb bass out of my little pond " I walked over the kid and his grandfather. I asked if they were going to mount it or release it. The grandfather replied that they had released it. I asked if he had weighed it. He replied that he had and it had weighed 9 pounds. I asked what he had caught it on. The kid picked up a package of purple worms and handed one to me. I told the kid that I was going to post it on the ponds section of TFF. That was the extent of my conversation.

The kid looks happy so that's all that should matter but unless he's 6'2" there's no way that even close to a 9# bass.

And the young man will always have the memory of when grandpa put him on a "9 pounder"...

I believe the title meant to read "9 pounds OF bass". I am thinking each photo was a different 3 lb bass. Good catch kid!!

He just caught two more. I just got the email from my neighbor. Didn't ask about the weight. Not sure if they weighed them.

Looks 9# to me,...I've caught plenty like that and to me and all the stories that go with them they were all 9 pounders, just like
the rest of my fishing friends... it really doesn't matter, I just wish I was there with him...!!
