Wow that's amazing!
So he went there to specifically catch a 13lb bass and he rigs up a drop shot on 6lb line. I would love to hear the thought process/story behind that one, I don't think a lot of guys would go that route.

I could of caught that fish at that lake...except they wont invite me......cus Im not near as good a fisherman as Klein! Three facts have come to the front in this post. 1. Rank has its privileges. 2. Good things happen to good people. 3. Ron White: some people have the right to remain silent...without the ability!

for all the years TPWD did shocking at Fork to be able to check on slot fish and overs they were very unsuccessful.
They then began a program using the overs that were caught at tournaments at Fork where we would do the measuring, weighing and fin clippings on the live release boat.
That gave them lot's of data.

I got a chance to meet and speak with Gary one time. He was a genuinely nice guy. Engaging to talk to and freely shared information and answered questions from a dummy like me. His success is earned. Good for him

Yes, he was born and raised in northern California but got to Texas just as soon as he could. He lived in Weatherford for a long time and currently resides in Mingus, Texas.

I still tie a Palomar knot with a little trick he showed me when I used to work at BPS. Humble, class act and willing to talk fishing with anyone. Congrats on a beautiful fish!
