My set up for fishing stump and log filled east Texas rivers is really anything that can consistently cast 20-30lb braid and an 1/8 or 1/4 oz jig. I tie braid straight to a 1/4 oz roadrunner. The jig will stick on wood a lot. The braid will allow you to straighten the hook. Otherwise you will lose 50 roadrunners a trip. Normal bass gear will cast the 1/4 oz fine. If I'm fishing 1/8 oz, I have a really small spinning combo I got at Academy. Its basically the smallest that's not ultralight. I spool with 20 lb braid. My whitebass fishing is just chunk and reel it back slow.
