Replaced both Flow Rite live well valves on my skeeter last year. Within a month one was leaking again. Tried back flushing to no avail. Being that it is a real pain to replace these on my boat, does anyone know of a live well valve that will last a little longer. This is the basic V1 Flow-Rite open/shut valve. Thanks

I will be following this as I would like to find a better one myself. I finally put a screen on mine as I was finding crayfish parts stuck in mine that the fish would regurgitate.
Since doing this mine has worked a whole lot better. I still have to clean up the loose stuff and remove the screen to drain all the way but it is easier than getting to the valve.

I thought the same thing happened when i replaced mine. Ordered new ones again and changed them out, while inspecting ones i took out noticed the valve was not leaking. It was stupid set screw on top of the arm coming loose, then not closing valve completely. Looked at original ones in trash pile, yep same thing happened. So I put some locktight on that screw and tightned it up good, no problems since with valves! Pumps still bleeding in that's another story though.

It will leak if you don't install the flappers right

Thanks Lucky. Read about this same situation on the product reviews. Will definitely check the set screw before ordering new ones.

I bought two 5/8 live well plugs and when I want to keep fish I stick them in before I launch. No more running the live well dry while running across the lake. Pull them at the end of the day.. works for me anyway.. I did replace the valves once before lasted less than a year.. pain to replace too!

Need to replace mine too. Where are you buying the parts?

I gave up and just used plugs in the drains in my livewells.

About a month ago I replaced the flappers after 23 years in the Ranger and everything has seemed to work well. They did say in the directions to make sure you get the flappers back perpendicular. Very straightforward repair but yes tearing out the rear of the boat to get to them is a pain.

Finally got mine out and replaced it. Operated ok (arm moved the valve), it just wasn't water tight. Ordered one online ($30) and installed today. Really a pain to replace, but should be good to go now.....for a while anyway.

Are you referring to the close off valve, where the open & close switch is at the seat ?
The reason I ask is because my live wells fill about 1/2 even when I have the toggle switch on closed. Have a 2017 ZX250
