Yes, but because the wire is stiff the action is very different. Most guy are using two smaller weights as a noise attraction and more weedless with points on both ends. Some are dragging it fast like a wobble head but higher off the bottom and weights off to side. I was using 20 lb line and throwing it into cedar bushes. It came out over the limbs better than a loose weight hanging down. I am not saying it is the most awesome new game changer ever but as we all try to find some little thing to give us an edge on pressured lakes I think it will help some. I would have never thought to throw my drop shot in a bush like that. The weight whips around and loops a branch. Could have just as easily throw a jig or flipped a pegged brush hog. Also it did better in some riprap than my T-Rig or drop shot. I was fishing deeper and parallel on the dam. I did not try it shallow working out.

Tried the VMC rig out for the first time this past weekend. Had a 1.25 ounce weight on it to punch hydrilla. I felt like it hung up more in the hydrilla than a typical punch rig, probably because of the multiple parts (barrel swivel, ring). I probably only made 20 flips with it, so not a huge sample size. Just an observation.
