<Editing due to mixing up hulls smile...>

Essentially P2 is slightly wider hull with step down deck. Classic is narrower hull, but has wider, longer deck due to the design. Layout slightly different - Classic is center rod box while P2 is side rod box. P2 will be a bit quicker as well. The P2 is Advantage class, while the Classic is Vision class - Advantage class has some niceties over the Vision class in stock form, as well as a nicer trailer setup.

At one time, the previous Pantera Classic was the Basscat MLF boat, so anytime you saw a Basscat on MLF show it was the Classic. Now with all the BPT changes not sure anymore. I have a buddy who had the P2 and upgraded to a Puma FTD - while he likes the Puma, he's told me the P2 was all he really needed and more and if he had it to do all over again he's not sure he would. I've heard the P2 described as the perfect weekend tournament fisherman's boat (over the 20-21ft/250 rigs). Easier/Cheaper to run and tow, plenty fast enough to keep up or outrun even all but the hot rod boats, plenty of deck room and storage/livewell. Plus easier to stow as well.

I don't know if the Vexus will ride with the same size glass boat or not, I do know that Vexus is not your ordinary tin boat. It would really depend on what type lakes and fishing that you do to decide on the two, I think if I were on big water I would have to go glass, if we are apples to apples. Vexus will have a glass boat out in a couple of months, if you are not in a big hurry i would wait and see what they have to offer.

This is not accurate at all, the PII has a 93” beam while the classic has a 90” beam. The Classic does carry that beam farther forwards giving the deck more width than the PII, but the hull isn’t wider. The PII has a step down deck, not the classic. The classic has the longer, fuller deck, not the PII. Also, the classic just came out last year, so it is not the model you have seen on MLF for the past several years.

More proof not to believe everything you read on the internet, get out and test drive both, I would guess you find them VERY different.

Dangit... Sorry yes I got the models reversed on the internals - I'll edit my post.

The PII is the Advantage Series, the Classic is the Vision series, that part is accurate. Yes P2 has wider hull, and pretty much every PII vs Classic discussion will touch on the Classic having the wider deck regardless.

Here's a recent discussion with input from BCBt -
https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/basscatowners/p2-vs-clsssic-t37697.html

And yes the Classics used for MLF were the 2017 models... Actually here's an interesting tidbit from BCB on the boats used for MLF in general... they really load those boats down.
