once for me and perfect timing for divorce. House value was at the lowest point. If I was still married the house would be paid for but that would be the only pro

When I moved to Alabama, I put a nice chunk of change on my current house as a down payment. Mortgage company asked if I wanted a 15 or 30 year mortgage. I said 30. It will be paid off when I'm 87. But where else could I live for $650 a month? ps Property taxes are $650 a year.

Philippines, I was renting a fully furnished house in a gated community with a security guard for $250 per month in Davao City near the SM Lanang Mall

Almost paid off just a couple more years. If I was renting my house it would easily by twice as much as my mortgage.

The whole Real Estate game is a scam

From the Realtors charging to list/sell all the way to the mortgage companies making up items for one to pay, PMI is a great example

It's simple, save up enough and pay cash. Put 30%down if you want to avoid PMI.
It's part of the cost of doing business.
Or do you think it's the Government's job to provide housing to us?

Without a house payment you get a wakeup call.
The insurance and property taxes that were included in the house payment are now not.
You will be floored by how high those property taxes and insurance really are.
