Looking at a bay boat with this motor. Any general comments would be appreciated. I assume it is a carb motor. Thanks in advance

they use a lot of fuel an if the vro oiler is on it take it off an premix. motors build good power as with any 20 yr old motor they can die at anytime.

I have a 97 200 Venom. Replaced the VRO pump when it went out with a fuel pump from Engineered Marine Products, and I pre-mix. The aftermarket fuel pump out performs the stock pump. They are good motors, fuel consumption on any old motor is bad. But the money saved verses a new rig will buy lots of fuel.
As with all old motors; check the compression, and be mindful some parts for those old motors can be a chore to find.
