I remember fishing on a bridge that went into the water when I was a kid in the 70's. Not sure of the road name or number, but remember parking our old truck on the road and fishing with my parents and brother until I would stumble back to the truck and sleep in the bed of the truck. Different time back then for sure.

More than likely it was the Old hwy 66 bridge before the new one was built!It had guard rails on each side & a barrier at the end where the road became too dangerous & dissapered into the lake

Did not realize there was/is so much flooded timber left standing out in the main lake down by the dam!

Way cool , I was only 11 or 12 but I remember the old twisting wood bridge you had to cross the river on it was barnes bridge road, more timber than I remeber also.. you can see the old gravel pits they built the I 30 from.
Thanks for sharing. Even where a shot towards where dalrock marina used be .. looks like it was taking from where bass pro is now Nice pic of the DPL hetty n the "peanut" too that's always been a hot spot for hybrids..really cool

Yep, Fishbonz is accurate. Fished this bridge up till late 90's early 2000's sometime until they completely shut it down.

Thanks for posting the pics! I first came to Rockwall over Barnes Bridge before the lake was here. You can see part of the road around the power plant. The pic at the dam shows a lone tree at about the middle. I remember fishing around that tree.
