We bought it earlier this week. Its her Christmas gift. I got her other stuff, but she wanted a stove. The one we have is a slip in. Its old and the oven doesnt cook evenly. Its 29.75 inches wide. The cabinets are custom made and it fits perfectly. The new one is 29.875 inches wide. It isnt going to fit. I have been looking at band sanders since we bought it, but Im not sure I can remove enough wood to get the new one in. I spoke to my brother today, he asked about the size of the breaker. I never thought about that. I knew I had to install a new outlet because the old stove is hard wired in, the breaker isnt big enough, I bet the wiring isnt sized right either. Im kind of freaking out right now. This stove isnt going to fit and if it does, the breaker is going to trip if she turns on too many burners. I might burn down the kitchen in the next few days to hide the issue. The stove isnt coming in until after Christmas. She loves the new stove. It has induction burners and little fans in the oven. I cant bear to tell her it isnt going to happen. Now what? And yes, I bought some ear rings today, but she cant cook on them.

With the ear rings she will look good being mad. You might not want to say that to her right away.

Similar thing happened when we bought my mom a new stove. Have fun. By the way, it's not fun. Hire someone. Or just plan on cussing a lot.

I bet you can find one that fits, and has all the bells and whistles that one has. Have you tried Nebraska Furniture Mart? I hear they have everything, and are great to work with.

Dig out the pocket book .... call a carpenter AND an electrician! (of course, that is only 1/8" and should be easy to squeeze in)

I can assure you it will be cheaper in the long run than not getting her what she expects.

I still have to cut the cabinets out to make the new one kind of sit there, the new stove is a stand alone unit, the one we have is a slide in. Im going to tear up the cabinets before I can know how much I have to tear up to try and out the new one in. I cant sleep at nights thinking of ways this will go wrong. I have a week.

I had something very similar. Stove top on base cabinet. I removed the built in and replaced with two small base units that are a drawer size wide with the oven in between. Ran a new circuit and installed an outlet. 6 AWG wire is some thick stuff. Installed a new breaker in the box.

You could burn a lot of food with that many burners.
