Both informative and relevant, in addition to being well-written. Thank you, Ken.

Id also like to hear your take on throwing a trap in areas without grass...ex. riprap, around reeds, docks, open water, etc. My lakes dont have grass and I dont throw one very often. Great article!

Great article Ken. I have a question regarding the Trap you might can help me with. Been fishing for a lot of years but living in the Dallas area meant only a couple of times a year fishing on Rayburn/Toledo Bend. Of course fishing Fork all through the 90's and some other really good Trap lakes like Fairfield in the winter it was a always a go to bait on these lakes with hydrilla. Still love the Trap but nowdays so many of the local lakes are void of the grass that we used to rip this bait through. If you or Dickey are on a lake void of grass do you still use the Trap as much with a different technique or do you go to another type of bait totally? Good question! I also rarely use a trap unless its around grass...

I throw a trap a lot, you don't need grass just opportunity.

Don't need grass. Stumps are great, anything that fish will hold on especially prespawn
